A Big Thanks To Everyone :)

Dear All,

Just before the end of the 2009 I wanted to thank everyone for the e-mails you have forwarded over the year.

I must send a big thank you to whoever sent me the one about rat sh*t in the glue on envelopes, because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.
Also, I now have to wipe the top of every can I open for the same reason.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it all to a sick girl (Penny Brown) who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258th time. But that will change once I receive the £15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft is sending me for participating in their special email development program. Or the payout from the senior bank clerk in Nigeria who wants me to split seven million dollars with me for pretending to be a long lost relative of a customer who died intestate.

I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me.

I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward emails to seven friends and make a wish within five minutes.
I no longer drink Coca-Cola because it can remove toilet stains.

I no longer can buy petrol without taking a friend along to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat when I'm filling up. I no longer go to shopping centres because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.

I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number and then I'll get a massive phone bill with calls to Jamaica , Uganda , Singapore and Uzbekistan . I can't use anyone's toilet but my own because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my bum.

I can't even pick up the £5 I found dropped in the car park because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab my leg. I know this because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbour's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's hairdresser.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

I Found A lovely New Shop In Gosport :)

Based in North Cross Street in Gosport, Hampshire, Bizzie Bees Gift Cakes started out as a gift shop for mum's to be and new mums, selling of baby gifts, including nappy cakes.

They now sell a wide range of gift cakes for weddings, babies, children as well as sock cup cakes and pamper cakes. All of the cakes are beautifully presented and make ideal gifts any time of the year.

This is also now my favourite store for bath bombs and soap cake slices. Everything in the Gosport store is fabulous and reasonably priced and the customer care is excellent.

Why not drop by and see Bizzie Bees while you are in town?

My Monitor Died :(

I tried to get on-line around 9am Tuesday and my 3 year old flatty monitor had passed away during the night :(

I managed to find a battered old CTX (from the ark) monitor buried under a pile of clutter that Gavin had dumped in the hallway...but couldn't find a cable anywhere.

I had visions of never finding one and having to go to the library to close down everything to do with the business as I can't run my business without internet access.

Got myself in a right state and then my neighbour dropped by for a girly chat so that cheered me up a lot:D

She was really worried because I can't walk very far and she knows I spend hours a day building and maintaining websites and stuff.

Then Gavin finally surfaced around 3pm, found a cable and got everything up and running within minutes.

I was so relieved that my business wasn't in danger of going down the pan that I took the rest of the day off and stayed on Facebook all day:D

Affiliate Marketing Blues

Affiliate marketing would be so much simpler if it weren't for the rules of some brokers.

I went to a new one today and they wanted me to verify my website by adding a verification code to the head of my site.

Now I am pretty much au fait with site building but the sites I build now are built using the site builder provided by my host. I can't see any raw code anywhere...if I try to find it, all I get under 'properties' is a short version of what is there...not the actual code so that I can change it.

This is the second broker I have dealt with recently that insists on asking the impossible....think I might stick to the Sunny friendly brokers I have been with for ages.

Managed to add THIS PAGE FOR CHOCOHOLICS today though...so I had some fun with that .

Vista Print

Finally getting down to the last few days of retail for this year. My next big job is to go through all the trading venues I use and remove all my listings and close the stores.

Then, early November will be the actual start of my affiliate marketing business as I won't have the retail side as a diversion.

Having said that.....Farmville keeps calling me so my life isn't entirely distraction free.

So....I need to find a large notebook and start writing lists of stuff I need to get done to really help this business get off the ground.

Just replaced the printer as my one died...so I really want to get my books back in balance after paying for that. Really getting fed up with seeing lots of red all over my accounts.

This Might Offend....Do I Look Bovvered???

After hearing that many cities did not want to offend other cultures by putting up Xmas lights, so DIDN'T!

After learning that the British Red Cross shops were instructed not to display Christmas decorations lest they cause offence. (A move which cost them my support thereafter.)*

After hearing that the Birmingham council changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's licence with her face covered. You try it!

After hearing of a Primary School in Birmingham where a boy was told that for PE they could wear Football League shirts (Aston Villa,
Birmingham, West Brom etc) but NOT an England shirt as it could offend others !*_

This prompted the editorial below written by a UK citizen. and published in a British newspaper.*

Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist
attacks on London , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Brits.

However, the dust from the attacks has barely settled and the 'politically correct' crowd begin complaining about the possibility that
our patriotism is offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Britain . However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of England being a multicultural centre for community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As
Britons, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of wars, struggles, trials and victories fought by the untold masses of men and women who laid down their lives and of the millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! *

If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.. If
St.George's cross, St. Andrews cross, St. Patricks cross or the Welsh Dragon offends you, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.

But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our Way of Life, I encourage you take advantage of one other great British freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.

We didn't force you to come here. If you don't like it GO HOME!!

You asked to be here.. So accept the country that accepted YOU. Pretty easy really, when you think about it..

This also is endorsed by Canadian, Australian, and New Zealander's, who all say the same thing as per the old quotation:*

When in Rome, do as the Roman's do." or "If you don't like it here? Then go back to where you come from."*

EuroMillions Jackpot Time Again

EuroMillions Jackpot...Friday 23rd October 2009...£54Million ...Buy Your Ticket Here!!

OOPS!!!...got sidetracked when one of my regular retail customers dropped by to pay me in chocolate.

I accept chocolate as payment for anything in my store, but I am now wondering how to add this to my business accounts.

I'm also wondering if the tax office staff will accept chocolate buttons for payment of my tax.

New Halloween Prize Draw

Last month's prize was a boho beaded necklace and we received over 200 entries.

This month's prize is a pewter brooch in a 'witch with goodie bag' design.

I only have one in stock and I can't get hold of any more right now. So if you want to win one this time, you'll need to be quick about it.

The closing date is 30th September at midnight so your prize will turn up in plenty of time for your Halloween party.

Full details are here

I'm currently looking round for something to give away in October...something festive for the next few prize draws??

Honest Sales People...A Dying Breed???

I got a call from my current ISP wanting to convince me to stay.

The guy I spoke to said that as I had paid them extra for superfast broadband , switching to an ISP that uses a phone line rather than cable I would expect my speed to drop dramatically.

When I told him that my current broadband speed was actually slower than the speed of the broadband I had previously and that my mum's broadband speed is faster than mine via a phone line and she lives in the same block of flats...he got the hump and didn't sound nearly as smiley as he did at the beginning of the call.

If their product is really so much better than their competitors' product I don't see the need to lie about it...or is it just me that cares about the customer service I deliver??

Photobucket and Marketing

Wow!!...I found another toy to play with while I think about what to put in my new on-line store.

This is a great tip from someone I know who has greatly increased their sales recently through using Photobucket to promote their products.

So....I went to my Photobucket account and uploaded some photographs of my products into a new album. Then in the photo description box I added descriptions pasted from my store on Zolanta.com

Then I added my website address and the address of my store on zolanta asking people to contact me for more details.

I can then send them a Paypal or Google Checkout invoice and they can pay me using their debit/credit card on a secure checkout page ....amazing!!!

Other things I did on-line today was fix lots of broken links from photos I moved from my main file to the new one and I managed to add some new products to my store on Zolanta.

Oh.....and I forgot to play pirates but remembered to rescue my city on metro from burning down

Teaching Maths Through The Years

1. Teaching Maths in1970
A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100.
His cost of production is 4/5 of the price.
What is his profit?

2. Teaching Maths in1980
A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100.
His cost of production is 80% of the price.
What is his profit?

3. Teaching Maths in 1990
A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100.
His cost of production is £80.
How much was his profit?

4. Teaching Maths in 2000
A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100.
His cost of production is £80 and his profit is £20.
Your assignment: Underline the number 20.

5. Teaching Maths in 2005
A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the habit of animals or the preservation of our woodlands.
Your assignment: Discuss how might the birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down their homes just for a measly profit of £20.

6. Teaching Maths in 2009
A logger is arrested for trying to cut down a tree in case it may be offensive to Muslims or other religious groups not consulted in the felling licence. He is also fined a £100 as his chainsaw is in breach of Health & Safety legislation as it deemed too dangerous and could cut something. He has used the chainsaw for over 20 years without incident, however, he does not have the correct certificate of competence and is therefore considered to be a recividest and habitual criminal. His DNA is sampled and his details circulated throughout all government agencies. He protests and is taken to court and fined another £100 because he is such an easy target. When he is released he returns to find gypsies have cut down half his wood to build a camp on his land. He tries to throw them off but is arrested, prosecuted for harassing an ethnic minority, imprisoned and fined a further £100. While he is in jail the Gypsies cut down the rest of his wood and sell it on the black market for £100 cash. They also have a leaving BBQ of squirrel and pheasant and depart leaving behind several tonnes of rubbish and asbestos sheeting. The forester on release is warned that failure to clear the fly tipped rubbish immediately at his own cost is an offence. He complains and is arrested for environmental pollution, breach of the peace and invoiced £12000 plus VAT for safe disposal costs by a regulated government contractor.
Your assignment: How many times is the logger going to have to be arrested and fined before he realises that he is never going to make £20 profit by hard work, give up, sign onto the dole and live off the state for the rest of his life?

7. Teaching Maths in 2010
A logger doesn’t sell a lorry load of timber because he can’t get a loan to buy a new lorry because his bank has spent all his and their money on a derivative of securitised debt related to sub-prime mortgages in Alabama and lost the lot with only some government money left to pay a few million pound bonuses to their senior directors and the traders who made the biggest losses. The logger struggles to pay the £1200 road tax on his old lorry. However, as it was built in the 1970s it no longer meets the emissions regulations and he is forced to scrap it. Some Bulgarian loggers buy the lorry from the scrap merchant and put it back on the road. They undercut everyone on price for haulage and send their cash back home, while claiming unemployment for themselves and their relatives. If questioned they speak no English and it is easier to deport them at the government’s expense. Following their holiday back home they return to the UK with different names and fresh girls and start again. The logger protests, is accused of being a bigoted racist and as his name is on the side of his old lorry he is orced to pay £1500 registration fees as a gang master. The Government borrows more money to pay more to the bankers as bonus's are not cheap. The parliamentarians feel they are missing out and claim the difference on expenses and allowances.
You do the maths.

Think Like A Millionaire ....Brian Tracy

This just turned up in my mailbox

Thought I would share it

Attitude is Everything
The most important attitude for financial success is long-term thinking. Successful people think a long way into the future and they adjust their daily behaviors to assure they achieve their long-term goals. In a longitudinal study done at Harvard University in the 50s and 60s, they studied the reasons for upward socio-economic mobility. They were looking for factors that would predict whether or not an individual or family was going to move upward and be wealthier in the future than in the present.

They studied factors like education, intelligence, being born into the right family, or having the right connections. In every case, they found individuals who had been born with every blessing in life who did poorly. They also found individuals who had been born or come to this country with no advantages at all who had been extremely successful. What was the distinguishing factor?

They finally determined that there was only one key attitude that mattered. They called it "Time Perspective." Time perspective refers to the amount of time that you take into consideration when planning your day to day activities and when making important decisions in your life.

I'm In Demand Again

I've just got an email from an auction site I haven't listed on in ages. I think they must be emailing everyone who trades on Tazbar now it is closing down.

Today's jobs

1. Bought another 3 packs of nicotine replacement lozenges . I have a shopping list for groceries here, ready for tomorrow, but I might have to give up eating as well as smoking as I think I have enough lozenges for the entire street.

2. Added links to my blogs and some links to the blog rolls...don't know why my brother's blog doesn't have a feed...weird that.

Here is his blog...from Australia.......The Bloke With The Horse

3. Wandered about the internet...mostly forums and Facebook

4. I have enough tridents to do the next boss fight on Pirates...only I have lost the same fight twice :(

5. Dropped by my favourite games forum HERE

6. Suggested an eBay seller add a 'buy it now' option to her auctions and she now has loads of dosh to take away with her on her holiday......think I'm in the wrong job

Every Word Rings True

This is from one of those emails that is sent to just about everyone to pass on.

I don't know who wrote the original email...but I agree with the whole piece.....

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started
by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and
Have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in
downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a
Field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning
Or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured
by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in
A brutal insurgency.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for
Incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring
about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by
Beheading in Afghanistan .

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off
Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out
and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves up in search of
nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide

I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of
speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the
Ground or their families waiting a home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an
Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to
Move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank .

I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and
fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that
his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your
heart of hearts:

I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and
Other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it,

I don't care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends
Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you
choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed
By radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in
The world. But, the Soldiers don't have that problem.'

I have another quote that I would like to add, AND.......I hope you forward
all this.

One last thought for the day:

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

2. The Canadian Soldier.

3. The British Soldier.

4. The US Soldier, and

5. The Australian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.

Times They Are A Changing

I thought the big news was going to be the BNP getting 2 Euro MPs elected last weekend, only on Monday I was told that one of the auction sites I trade on is about to close down.

I signed up to Tazbar.com in September 2006, when the site had only been live for about 6 weeks. I've since seen a few really dodgy sites come and go but really hoped that Tazbar would make it :(

My jobs for today

1. Tidying up my newest site Here it is and adding a new link to my jewellery store on Ebid

2. Chatting on the Tazbar and eBid forums about the Tazbar closure

3. Keeping up with friends on Facebook

4. Trying to get hold of some tridents while playing 'Pirates'

Welcome To My Virtual World

I used to have a blog about my life on eBid.net only eBid is only a tiny part of my on-line experience so it would have been a tiny blog.

So....I decide instead to share snippets from my on-line world and hope this blog will at least be mildly entertaining.

Facebook is playing up again...all the games are up the spout which is how I managed to find the time to nip across and add some more waffle to the rest on the internet.

Jobs today include

1. Adding lots of entries to the latest prize draw on my website.
So far over 200 people have sent me their names, addresses and email addy
Some people have added phone numbers and for some reason best known to themselves, others think I want to know how old they are????

The prize draw is open to anyone over 16 in the UK and the prize is a black and floral design jute beach bag...you can find more details if you clicky here

2. I have lots of mystic pendant charms to add to my new age store on ebid which you will find if you clicky here

3. Clearing all the game feeds on my facebook games. I am currently playing Pirates, Mafia Wars, Vampire Wars, Metropolis and Zoo Builder. I recently dumped a lot of the games I was playing as I was in danger of getting behind with my business...eeek!

I run an on-line business, partly retail and partly affiliate marketing but plan to dump the retail side at some point as I don't like working for 2p an hour and I have never seen any multi millionaires flogging their clutter on on-line auctions as their main business.

I'll get back to this when I can break free from facebook :)
